The Santa Monica Hotel Shangri-La re-opens October 2008 near the Pacific Coast Highway. This historic hotel on the Los Angeles, California, ocean-front has had a $30 million makeover while retaining the art deco beauty that made it famous: presidents, movie stars and artists have all wined, dined, and stayed here. This architectural gem that was built on Ocean Avenue in 1939 now offers ocean views from 67 of its 71 rooms and suites. This first renovation in over twenty years provides every room with a 50" or 60" flat panel TV, iPod docks, premium sound systems, high-speed internet access and every other modern amenity.
HOTEL SHANGRI-LA LOCATIONThe Shangri-La is only a short walk from the ocean and beach at Santa Monica, and minutes from Santa Monica Airport. It's a 20-minute drive from Los Angeles International Airport, and minutes from most of LA's major attractions like Rodeo Drive, Malibu Beach, and the Getty Center and Villa.
